Last month I was in Australia on a brief holiday, and stumbled upon a fantastic little café in the quiet seaside town of Yamba – Beachwood Cafe. After eating, we learnt that owner Sevtap Yuce is a bit of a celeb having written two cook books, “Turkish Flavours” and the new one “Turkish Meze”. Take a look at the Beachwood cafe’s Website http://www.beachwoodcafe.com.au/index.html
Anyway, back to the food. We ordered the Chili Garlic Blue swimmer crab (freshly caught that day) and Turkish Chicken – both were to die for, but the Turkish chicken was fantastic – a new taste sensation for me and I could cut it with a spoon.
I was scouring the web this morning looking for some inspiration for tonight dinner, and once again I stumbled upon Sevtap, only this time it was her recipe for Turkish Chicken. You can find it here http://www.lovefood.com/guide/recipes/15884/turkish-chicken-recipe
I made it as close as possible to the original recipe, and it’s really (really) good. The All Spice and Cinnamon make this dish very different from the usual Italian spices and herbs I’m familiar with.
