This blog is mostly about food, recipes, and quite possibly the odd dining experience. A lot of the recipes featured on this site will be low-calorie. I’m on the Fast Diet or 5:2 diet as it’s otherwise known, and am on the lookout for delicious meals that tip the scales at less than 300 calories per serving. I’m finding it an interesting challenge to adapt existing recipes and favorite foods to fit this pretty strict criteria.
For those of you on the same diet, or just simply looking for a healthy meal, I promise I’ll only post genuine recipes that can be substituted for a full meal. I’ve come across too many great sounding recipes only to find the author cheats by upping the serving count. For example, a great sounding Pizza recipe, with heaps of pepperoni and cheese – serves 8 – which would amount to a tiny slice per person – get real.
The blog is also about one of the most beautiful places in the world, Queenstown New Zealand, so expect the odd gratuitous shot of the mountains thrown in occasionally. Queenstown sits at latitude 45 South on the edge of a glacial lake (Wakatipu) in the heart of the Southern Alps. The birthplace of Bungy, Queenstown claims to be the “adventure capital of the world”. With activities such as skydiving, canyoning, mountain biking, skiing in the winter, to name just a few, that claim may just stand up in court.
